- I am Norman Staines and I write poetry and paint. I have a background in scientific research, academic life, training and teaching of academic writing. Creative writing and painting and drawing have been my constant companions in life, and I now spend much of my time on these creative activities. I live in west London and am a member of the poetry groups Sound Crew, The Sofa Poets and the Poetry Society's Barnes and Chiswick Stanza. In painting, I participate in courses and workshops and am a contributor to the Studio 17 Group.
